NorthwesTel has applied to The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to extend temporary Internet usage relief measures for residential customers until June 30.
According to a social media post by NorthwesTel, “This extension is subject to regulatory approval” by the CRTC.
NorthwesTel says these measures are part of their COVID-19 response to facilitate increased telework across the North.
Customers do not need to take any action to receive this temporary benefit, the company will apply it automatically to customer bills.
NorthwesTel says the relief measures remain the same until the end of June if approved.
