Phone lines back in service for RCMP

A communication outage last Friday which affected calls to police detachments, including 911, has been repaired.

The outage was alleged to be caused by fibre optic line cut, south of Enterprise, an RCMP press release said.

Andrew Anderson, spokesperson for Northwestel said the situation was resolved on Saturday, June 13.

The RCMP announced the outage would be affecting detachments across the NWT and calls to police may not work until repairs are complete.

RCMP advised those requiring police assistance to attend the detachment during regular working hours typically 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
