A 21-year-old man facing murder charges from last October is in custody.

Ahmed Mohamed — known as Scotty — turned himself in to the Yellowknife RCMP detachment on Saturday, police announced in a press release.

Mohamed is facing charges for murder and assault causing bodily harm from Oct. 31, 2020.

None of the charges have been proven in court.

Police previously thought Mohamed may have fled Yellowknife.

Mohamed is scheduled to appear in the Yellowknife courthouse on June 30.
