RCMP investigating fatal crash near Inuvik

One man is dead and charges are pending against another following this weekend's accident

The RCMP are investigating a motor vehicle accident near Inuvik that left one person dead over the weekend.

The accident happened on Saturday evening, at about 8:20 p.m. along the Inuvik/Tuktoyaktuk highway.

A man who was seriously injured in the crash was airlifted to a hospital in Alberta, where he later died of his injuries. A spokesperson for the RCMP declined to confirm the identity of the victim.

Multiple charges, including Impaired Driving Causing Death, are pending against another driver involved in the accident.

The RCMP encourage anyone with information on the accident to contact Inuvik RCMP at 777-1111 or Crime Stoppers.
