18-year-old woman’s death treated as homicide, one person in custody

Anyone with information on suspicious activity is asked to contact the RCMP.

One person is in custody after an 18-year-old woman was found dead in a Hay River home.

The woman’s body was discovered by police on Wednesday, after responding to a call around 10:49 p.m.

An investigation led to the arrest of one suspect who is facing charges, the RCMP says in a press release.

The case is being treated as a homicide and the RCMP says it isn’t looking for other suspects.

The incident is believed to be isolated and the investigation is ongoing, police say.

Anyone with information on suspicious activity is asked to call the RCMP at 874-1111.
