The Inuvialuit Development Corporation and Gwich’in Development Corporation have come together to create Delta North Alliance, a general contracting company.

In a news release, the partners say the company will “pursue work in areas of common interest in the Mackenzie Delta.”

Leaders mentioned the historic relationship between the Inuvialuit and Gwich’in. The company, they say, builds on that relationship and is “committed to utilizing existing capacity and expertise in the area while providing opportunities to expand the capabilities for their respective beneficiaries.”

Ken Smith, chair of the GDC and Gwich’in grand chief, said Delta North Alliance will “make good use of our collective strength.”

IDC Chair Patrick Gruben said the company will “meet challenges specific to our regions.”
