Some people trying to access the NWT Help Line may have their calls go straight to voicemail.
The department of Health and Social Services says it is aware of the issue and is working to rectify it.
In a news release, the department says it is mainly affecting iPhone users.
“In the meantime, if a call goes to voice message, and residents are comfortable doing so, they can leave a confidential voice message with their name and phone number,” reads the release. “A trained responder will call them back.”
The helpline is for anyone experiencing abuse, depression, and suicidal thoughts in addition to other mental health issues.
Residents can call the help line at 1-800-661-0844.
Anyone in immediate need of help should call 9-1-1.
