Arctic Indigenous Wellness Camp closes, staff available by phone

The Arctic Indigenous Wellness Foundation has closed its urban healing camp in Yellowknife to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The camp directors decided to do so last week.

However, now it says it will have phone sessions for Indigenous people needing support across the territory.

Phone sessions will be between 9 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m.

For people calling from outside of Yellowknife, staff will call you back so you don’t have any long distance fees.

Here is the contact information for camp staff offering support:

  • William Greenland: 867-446-1346
  • Annie Mitsima: 867-688-3027
  • Ruth Mercredi: 867-444-1949

If you’re having trouble connecting, you can get in touch with executive director Wilbert Cook at 867-447-1095.
