Tip leads to liquor seizure in Tuk

RCMP in Tuktoyaktuk seized 190 bottles and cans of different sizes and types of alcohol.

According to a news release, police received a tip on September 6 about a vehicle going to the community with a large amount of alcohol.

RCMP then intercepted the vehicle on the Inuvik-Tuk highway. The driver is scheduled to appear in court in Tuk on December 4.

Tuktoyaktuk has restrictions on alcohol, where residents can only bring in two 1.1L bottles of booze into the community at a given time.
