Police are investigating an incident over the weekend where a body was discovered in downtown Yellowknife.

At 2:39 p.m. on Saturday, police searched an alley between 43rd and 44th street, says RCMP spokesperson Julie Plourde, in an email.

The body was discovered inside a shed in the alley.

A post mortem examination has been ordered by the coroner as part of the investigation and no other details are available, Plourde says.
