Edmonton police arrested 44-year-old Steven Theriault Tuesday evening.
Behchokǫ̀ RCMP suspect Theriault was the driver in a car crash that left a young mother dead and two other people injured.
Officers took about 20 minutes to arrive at the scene following a call about the crash. In that time, they say Theriault fled.

Police issued two public calls for help to find Theriault since the crash on April 22.
“He is currently in custody and will be brought back to the Northwest Territories in the next few days to face numerous Criminal Code and GNWT Motor Vehicle Act charges in relation to the incident,” reads an RCMP news release.
