Health officials are warning of at least one undetected case of COVID-19 in Yellowknife.
In a press release issued Monday evening, Dr. Kami Kandola, the NWT chief public health officer (CPHO), says wastewater testing from April 14 to 17 detected a positive case of the virus.
The release says there is not enough information to currently assess the public risk.
“It is possible that this signal is from one or more individuals who have travelled and who are now appropriately self-isolating,” the release says. “It is also possible that COVID-19 has been transmitted to others.”
The CPHO is asking anyone who was self-isolating in Yellowknife between April 14 and 17 to get tested.
