Camping season is coming soon.

With online reservations opening this week, there’s a little over a month left before the NWT’s parks open for the season.

Reservations for parks near Yellowknife start today with the first being at Prelude Lake.

Tomorrow bookings for Reid campground will open, Fred Henne bookings will open Thursday, and finally bookings for all remaining campgrounds will open on Friday.

A handful of parks are first-come first-serve, like Nataiinlaii Territorial Park near Fort McPherson, Gwich’in Territorial Park near Inuvik, and Little Buffalo River Crossing.

The campgrounds in the North and South Slave regions will be the first to open on May 13.

MacKinnon Territorial Park in the Sahtu will open May 15.

Camps in the Beaufort Delta will open May 19, and finally campgrounds in the Dehcho will open May 20 (except for Blackstone Territorial Park, which opens June 3).
