Shots fired on Gitzel street

A 42-year-old man is in critical condition, related to gunshot wounds after a fight broke out inside an apartment on Gitzel street in Yellowknife on Sunday.

The unnamed man was transported to Stanton Territorial Hospital and later Edmonton for treatment.

Police say the parties in this incident are known to each other and there is no risk to the public.

RCMP is currently investigating two culprits who were seen in the area at the time of the incident. One is described as a heavier set Indigenous male, around 5’9” who was wearing a tan jacket, and black pants with a black bag. The other is described as a thin male, around 5’7”, wearing a black jacket, black snow pants and also carrying a black bag.
