The territory is officially reporting more cases in the past two weeks than it has the entire pandemic.
In a press release issued Monday evening, the office of the chief public health officer (OCPHO) says there are 220 active cases in the territory.
Fort Good Hope is reported to have 89 active cases, Colville Lake has 74, Délı̨nę has nine, Norman Wells has 18, Inuvik has one, Hay River has one, Yellowknife has 27 and Fort Providence has one.
The OCPHO released one new exposure location at the Alberta Indigenous Games in Edmonton from Aug. 12 to 19. Anyone in attendance is required to monitor their symptoms.
The OCPHO also announced wastewater testing detected COVID-19 in Behchokǫ̀.
Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 in Behchokǫ̀ is required to isolate immediately and arrange for testing, as well as anyone in Behchokǫ̀ who was at a recent exposure notifications or identified as contacts to COVID-19.
Anyone who was in an area of the NWT with COVID-19 activity between Aug. 10 to 23, and was in Behchokǫ̀ between Aug. 20 to 23 is required to arrange to be tested.
The OCPHO says it is unaware of anyone with COVID-19 in Behchokǫ̀ and says the signal is unexpected.
