Acho Dene Koe First Nation (ADKFN) in Fort Liard swore in its band council on June 17.
The council was ordered to be sworn in by Garth Wallbridge, the one-person member of the elections appeal committee.
The appeals for the chief election are ongoing, but a decision is expected sometime in the next two weeks, a press release says.
In the meantime, Brenda Berreault has been sworn in as sub-chief of ADKFN.
