RCMP investigating ‘suspicious death’ in Forrest Drive area

RCMP has discovered a body near a multiple dwelling residential located off Forrest Drive and is treating the discovery as a “suspicious death.”

According to an RCMP news release, “At approximately 6:50 pm on Wednesday, May 6, Yellowknife RCMP were alerted to a residence, where they found a deceased person.”

“The death is considered suspicious. RCMP immediately secured the scene,” Julie Plourde an RCMP spokesperson said in the release.

The NT RCMP Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Services are on the scene looking for evidence.

Police say positive identification of the deceased person is underway.

The investigation is ongoing.
