Yellowknife RCMP searching for owner of stolen dirt bike

An alleged thief was caught with the bike downtown on Wednesday morning.

Yellowknife RCMP are searching for the owner of a stolen dirt bike after catching a suspected thief on Wednesday morning.

The 35-year-old male suspect was caught downtown during what appeared to be a stealing spree. He was arrested and found to be in possession of the stolen dirt bike, a rifle, and what is believed to be a bag of stolen property.

He now faces half a dozen charges, including theft of a motorcycle, possession of property obtained by crime, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Police are now searching for the owner of the stolen bike, a photo of which is included above. The owner is asked to contact Yellowknife RCMP.

Anyone with information to share about the incident, including those who have had property go missing overnight, are encouraged to call local RCMP at 669-1111.
