Yellowknife RCMP investigate weekend shooting on Bigelow Crescent

Police are seeking three suspects after a woman was shot on Saturday night.

A woman was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds following a shooting in Yellowknife on Saturday.

The incident took place on Bigelow Crescent around 10:45 p.m.

Police are now searching for three suspects who were seen fleeing in the direction of Williams Avenue. Those who live in the area and have security cameras are encouraged to provide footage from that time to police.

In connection with that shooting, an investigation by Yellowknife RCMP is underway at an apartment building on Gitzel Street, about 2 kilometres from the sight of the shooting. Police warned on Monday morning there would continue to be heavy police presence at Fort Gary Apartments, although residents are no longer being asked to avoid the area.

The response includes a police dog team and a crisis negotiation team.
