Public health officials confirmed on Friday that an individual in Hay River has COVID-19.

They sent out a public health notice alerting the public at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

The notice says the individual is not an NWT resident and the case is travel-related.

“The individual and close contacts are isolating and doing well,” say officials.

There are currently no public risk exposures related to the case.
