Employee injured at NTPC facility

The incident occured Friday at the Jackfish generating facility in Yellowknife


A workplace accident has taken place at NTPC's Jackfish plant on March 5.

An employee of the Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) has been injured at the Jackfish generating facility in Yellowknife.

The unspecified accident took place on March 5th and the employee was transported to Stanton Territorial Hospital for assessment and treatment.

An accident at NTPC’s Jackfish generating facility in Yellowknife sent one employee to Stanton Territorial Hospital on March 5.

Doug Prendergast, NTPC communications manager, stated in a news release that “no further information about the condition of the employee will be provided at this time.”

The incident will be investigated by the Workplace Safety and Compensation Commission.

“Our thoughts are with our employee and his family,” said Noel Voykin, president and CEO of the power corporation.

“We will provide them with whatever support we can at this difficult time.”
