An unrelated police investigation on Sunday led to the seizure alcohol intended to be smuggled into Whatì.
An RCMP press release says at approximately 2:45 a.m., police were at a hotel on 49th Ave. for a separate investigation.
Police then discovered 42 bottles of liquor and eight cans of beer destined for Whatì — a community that prohibits alcohol from entering.
The release says the investigation is ongoing and no one has been charged yet.
