The driver and motor vehicle issuing office in downtown Yellowknife is closed due to flooding.

The flooding was caused by a drainpipe malfunctioning during a period of heavy rain on Monday, says Greg Hanna, a spokesperson for the department of Infrastructure, in an email.

The issuing office on the main floor of the building is the only area affected, he adds.

The office will remain closed, potentially until the end of the week, as a result of the damage.

“It is too soon to know when repairs may be completed,” Hanna concludes.

Updates will be shared through social media.
