Due to heavy ice conditions, the Mackenzie River ferry crossing at kilometre 143, near Tsiigehtchic, is now closed for the season.
The Department of Infrastructure says the Peel River ferry crossing at kilometre 74 of the Dempster highway is still open for now. However, the department says to expect delays because of “soft, slippery and rough” landings.
It added that the department will try to notify residents within 24 hours of the ferry’s official closing.
