The NWT has begun vaccinating residents against COVID-19.
This comes after Health Canada approved the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Dec. 23.
In a press release, the chief public health officer says this is a turning point in the pandemic and the territory is expected to vaccinate around 75 per cent of adults by March.
Vaccinations have already been administered to residents of Jimmy Erasmus Seniors Home in Behchokǫ̀ and AVENS Manor in Yellowknife.
However, the release says the pandemic is still ongoing and residents need to continue making sacrifices.
This includes staying home when sick, keeping two meters distance and wearing a mask in public spaces.
