Following last summer’s extraordinary wildfire season, the City of Yellowknife has contracted KPMG to complete an after-action assessment to identify what went well, and what areas need improvement.

The after-action assessment consists of five phases and is moving to phase 3, a series of engagement sessions to collect feedback from “partners, stakeholders and the public,” the City stated in a media release.

The in-person public engagement session is Wednesday, March 27, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Multiplex Gym. No registration is necessary to participate.

Facilitated by KPMG, this in-person public engagement session will focus on the different phases of evacuation during the 2023 wildfire season: the pre-evacuation preparedness and awareness; the steps taken during evacuation and when people came back home.
