Edwin Erutse, the 15 year incumbent president of the Yamoga Land Corporation, was re-elected on Monday according to the preliminary results.

The results were posted on the Yamoga Land Corp. Facebook page on Tuesday afternoon.

Curtis Manuel, Robert Bourassa, Daniel Jackson, Tammy Proctor, Darcy Edgi and Shawn Grandjambe were elected as the Yamoga Land Corp. directors. A total of 18 people ran for the six director spots.

Erutse defeated Ronald Pierrot, a former chief of Fort Good Hope, for the role of president .

“I’m very happy and want to thank all my supporters and members who came out to vote,” he told CKLB over the phone Tuesday after hearing he had won. “I look forward to working with all the other leaders in the region.”

He says his first matter of business will be meeting with the directors for an orientation as well as Fort Good Hope chief and council.

Rose McNeely, the chief returning officer, posted on Facebook that the results will be approved at the Band Hall on Oct. 22 at 5 p.m.
