The Government of the Northwest Territories is requiring employees that work with vulnerable populations to be fully vaccinated by Nov. 30.

A press release says this will be for employees who provide service to vulnerable members of the public in healthcare, education and corrections sectors as well employees travelling to remote communities for work.

The GNWT says it worked with the Union of Northern Workers, the NWT Teachers Association, Indigenous governments, and others to develop the policy.

This comes over a month after other jurisdictions in Canada made the same vaccine requirement for healthcare and education workers.

More to come…

Should vaccines be mandatory for GNWT employees?
