There has been one confirmed case of COVID-19 at Diamond Jenness Secondary School in Hay River.

The school posted a letter to its Facebook page informing residents yesterday.

Contact tracing has begun and exposure notification letters are being sent to students, teachers and staff affected.

“We ask for your support in continuing to screen your child before coming to school and ask that any students showing symptoms remain home,” reads the letter.

The school will remain open for students who are not self-isolating.
