RCMP asking public for help in Fort Simpson house fire investigation

Fort Simpson RCMP are asking for the publics’ assistance in an investigation on a house fire that happened on June 29.  

RCMP arrived at the home at approximately 7:30 a.m., finding it completely engulfed in flames.  

Investigators are unable to determine if there is a criminal element. 

The RCMP are requesting anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity the morning of June 29, to contact them at (867) 695-1111. Anyone hoping to remain anonymous can call 1-800-222-8477, or text “nwtnutips” plus your message to 274637. 

Martina Norwegian says the house that burned down has been in her family since 1969.
