Behchokǫ̀ under boil water advisory

A boil water advisory has been issued in Behchokǫ̀.

Residents whose homes are connected to the water system and those who receive trucked water are asked to boil their water for about one minute.

All water used for drinking, preparing food, hot and cold beverage machines, ice machines, including dental hygiene must be boiled.

You may, however, shower, bathe or wash using tap water, reads the advisory.

The notice is precautionary and due to a mechanical issue at the water plant, causing turbidity (essentially muddy water.)

No illnesses have been reported.
