RCMP is investigating incidents of cyberbullying in Beaufort Delta communities, including Inuvik.

NNSL reported several parents reached out to the Inuvik Drum with concerns about cyberbullying on TikTok, a video sharing platform.

The article says several youth’s videos were reposted on an account called @exposingInuvik28 with subtitles suggesting they die by suicide.

Other parents say the youth have been dealing with verbal abuse for several months from a number of TikTok accounts under different aliases.

The article says there are also accounts attacking youth in Aklavik under the aliases @exposingak18 and @exposingak2021.

RCMP says as result of the incident, officers attended the school in Inuvik and gave presentations on bullying, cyberbullying and basic online safety.
