Early Sunday morning, police in Fort Smith responded to a call at a residence and found an unresponsive 47-year old woman.
Local RCMP are now investigating the case, which they characterized as a sudden death. The NWT coroner service is assisting the investigation.
The RCMP says there are no public safety concerns and have not released the identity of the woman.
Police won’t say whether the death is considered suspicious.
