The Department of Lands’ offices were closed Monday morning due to an individual entering the space over the weekend that was supposed to be self-isolating. The individual had previously left the Northwest Territories.

In a press release, the Government of the Northwest Territories says workers on the first floor of the Gallery Building were asked to work from home on Monday so the space could be sanitized.

“These actions were taken out of an abundance of caution, and staff were advised shortly after noon that it was safe for them to return to the worksite,” the release reads.

The individual who was supposed to be self-isolating allegedly entered the office space for a short period of time on Sunday.

The release adds the incident has been reported to Protect NWT.
