Worker injured at Diavik mine

One person at Diavik Diamond Mine has been injured.

The accident happened yesterday afternoon while they were operating an excavator.

The employee has been transported to an Edmonton hospital after being assessed by on-site medical staff.

The individual was considered in stable condition at the time.

Matthew Klar, spokesperson for Diavik, says “we will focus on supporting our colleague.”

Klar declined to offer details on the extent of the person’s injuries.
