The Rotary Club of Yellowknife is hosting a virtual Canada Day celebration where participants can win prizes.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the usual Canada Day festivities — including the parade — are canceled, the Rotary Club announced in a press release. So the organization is encouraging people to celebrate with them online.

People are invited to decorate themselves or their homes and post the photos on the event Facebook page. Everyone who posts in the event will be entered in a draw to win prizes, the release says.

The contest will close at midnight on July 1 and names will be drawn on July 3.
