RCMP investigate damage to solar panels in Inuvik

RCMP in Inuvik are asking for the public’s help as officers investigate damage to solar panels in the town over the weekend.

Police state in a news release that between 5 pm on Saturday and 2 pm on Sunday, 17  solar panels were damaged at the Children First Centre, on Kingmingya Road.

RCMP have not described the damage nor put a dollar total on the amount of damage.

“RCMP believe person, or persons, may have seen something suspicious. We are asking the residents of Inuvik to report any suspicious or unusual activity” states Staff Sergeant Olena Newmen, Acting Commander for Inuvik RCMP.

Inuvik RCMP are currently investigating and is asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area of the Children First Centre between Saturday and Sunday afternoon to contact Inuvik RCMP at 777-1111.
