Yellowknife RCMP locate missing woman

About an hour after RCMP in Yellowknife reported a missing woman, she has been found safe.

In a news release issued over the noon hour Thursday, police stated that they were looking for 19-year-old Heidi Kamookak of Taloyoak, Nunavut.

Police stated that she was last seen Wednesday near the Larga Kititmeot residence on Franklin Avenue near the Centre for Northern Families.

A little after 1:00 pm Thursday police stated she’d been found safe and thanked the public.

As is their policy – RCMP have not said where she was located nor where she had been

Larga Kitikmeot is a residence which provides a safe home for Inuit people travelling from the Kitikmeot region of Nunavut for medical services.
