Tuk mayor frustrated by days-long Bell Mobility outage in community

Tuktoyaktuk Mayor Merven Gruben

The mayor of Tuktoyaktuk says Bell Mobility has some explaining to do after its cell phone service in the community has been out since Wednesday.

In a Facebook posting, Merven Gruben states that it seems Bell has a problem with the system in Tuk and is flying then driving in a technician with some parts.

“I wish I knew first hand but they have been impossible to get in touch with since this started late Wednesday afternoon,” the mayor stated. “We are still trying to find out exactly what’s going on and believe me they will have some serious explaining to do once we get the cell service back on and in touch with them.”

Gruben told residents he would keep them updated on the situation.
