Cocaine, cash and other paraphernalia seized from Hay River residence

Two men are charged with drug trafficking after searching a Hay River residence on June 4.

RCMP says the search warrant was originally for firearms, however none were found. However, police did find 24 grams of cocaine, $3,700 cash and “additional evidence of drug trafficking,” according to a release.

30-year-old Shaquan Francis-Davis from Ontario and 35-year-old Donald Lafleur from Hay River are both charged with trafficking offences. Francis-Davis also faced charges of assaulting police with a weapon and violating a release condition requiring him to stay in Ontario.

Two other Hay River men were released for a future court date, and a fifth person was released without charges.
