That man suffered a medical emergency while in police custody and was later medivaced out of the community for treatment.

Police stopped the suspect vehicle which was carrying a number of occupants, while arriving on the ice road into the Sahtu community on Friday.

The vehicle itself was later seized, along with its contents of $1,580 in cash, drug paraphernalia, 27 x 40-ounce bottles of vodka, a bottle of whisky, a box of wine, 16 cans of beer and four cans of wine coolers.

Charges have not yet been laid, however they are anticipated as the matter remains under investigation.

Anyone who has information about this incident or any other illegal activity in the area is asked to contact the Fort Good Hope detachment.
