Two people charged in Yellowknife shooting, investigation ongoing

Yellowknife RCMP have charged two people so far related to a recent shooting.

Hilah Rose McCauley, 19, has been charged with attempted murder. Police initially asked for the public’s help in finding McCauley, who is originally from Norman Wells. Police say she has since been arrested and is in custody.

Police have also charged a youth related to the incident. The youth has also not yet been apprehended.

The shooting happened on May 1, about 11:15 p.m. in the 5100 apartment block on 53rd Street. An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital before being transferred to Edmonton for treatment. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

Police have also released photos of two more suspects in the shooting and are asking for the public’s help to identify them.
