Nomination period for hamlet elections open

The nomination period for hamlet elections in the NWT opened this week.

The communities headed to the polls later this year are:

  • Aklavik
  • Enterprise
  • Fort Liard
  • Fort McPherson
  • Fort Providence
  • Fort Resolution
  • Paulatuk
  • Sachs Harbour
  • Ulukhaktok

Hamlets must post their voter lists by Nov. 13. Residents interested in being part of their municipal government have until Nov. 15 to put their name forward.

The communities can hold advance polls between Nov. 29 and Dec. 6, with election day being on Dec. 13.
