The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is reporting another COVID-19 related death, the tenth resident to pass away since the start of the pandemic.

No details were given on the deceased resident, but the most recent death was recorded in GNWT daily COVID update.

The update says nine of the 10 residents who have now passed away were unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

All of the territory’s COVID related fatalities have been a result of the current outbreak, which was declared in mid-August.

There have been 55 hospitalizations from the current outbreak and 19 people have been admitted into the intensive care unit in that time.
