Behchokǫ̀ RCMP seizes 27 bottles of liquor following prohibition order

Behchokǫ̀ RCMP seizes dozens of liquor bottles after a check stop on Sept. 15.

This is following a prohibition order put into effect the same day.

At about 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday RCMP seized a total of 20 375 ml bottles of vodka and whiskey, two 740 ml bottles and five 1140 ml bottles.

Sergeant Braden Stephenson is the acting Behchokǫ̀ RCMP Detachment Commander.

“Behchoko RCMP will continue to support our partner agencies and community leaders on all efforts to address substance abuse and the harm it can bring. We are committed to the safety of our community,” he said
