The Town of Hay River has issued a precautionary notice advising residents of Vale Island and West Channel of potential evacuation.
“Residents should now prepare their households,” reads the notice.
If an evacuation order is necessary, it will be shared on the town’s Facebook page, through its emergency measures email service, and on its website, among others avenues.
The notice says residents should have received Household Preparedness guidelines to help prepare for an evacuation.
