On Thursday afternoon, Premier Caroline Cochrane said the NWT would be receiving enough doses of the new COVID-19 vaccine to immunize 75 per cent of eligible adults within the first three months of 2021.
Early in the new year, the NWT will get doses of the Moderna vaccine to immunize 75% of our eligible adult population against COVID-19 in the first three months of 2021. We will provide details about work underway to rollout the vaccine tomorrow afternoon. #nwtpoli #cdnpoli

The vaccine would be provided by American biotech company Moderna.
The announcement comes a day after Health Canada also approved the Pfizer vaccine.
The premier, along with Health and Social Services Minister Julie Green and Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Kami Kandola will be speaking to media on Friday at 1:30 p.m. for additional information on the vaccine roll out in the territory.
