Two exploration projects will take place on Tłı̨chǫ lands starting in late August.

According to a notice on social media from the Tłı̨chǫ Government, Fortune Minerals will be working at its NICO site and Rover Metals will be drilling at its Cabin Lake claims area, which it bought in 2018, north of Russell Lake near Behchokǫ̀.

The Tłı̨chǫ Government is also reassuring its citizens there is minimal risk of contracting COVID-19 as it says there will be no contact with communities.

Fortune Minerals’ exploration could last up to two weeks, and is set to begin on Aug. 27.

Rover Metals will be drilling six holes over 20 days.

“Pending the successful exploration results, the decision may be made to go to advanced exploration,” reads the notice.
