The latest album from renowned Yellowknife musician Carmen Braden is set to drop on Friday, Sept. 27.

The album is entitled “Songs of the Invisible Summer Stars.”

A news release states it’s being released on the Centrediscs label on all major audio digital distribution systems, hard copy compact disc (CD) and digital download cards.

An album release party will be held the night before, Thursday Sept. 26 at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre’s Museum Café.

It will feature a live performance, dedicated listening to select tracks, audience exploration of some of Carmen’s compositional techniques and behind the scenes stories of album-making.

This is Braden’s second studio album and is described as a celebration of her chamber compositions.

“Carmen’s lyrical sensibilities are informed by her song-based work and shine through with driving grooves, delicate soundscapes, interplay of space and density, all informed by her contemplation and use of field recordings from the North,” states the release.
