A preliminary hearing for a young woman from the DehCho community of Fort Liard, charged with second-degree murder, is to resume Friday in Yellowknife.

Selena Lomen, 21, is charged in the stabbing death of Danny Klondike, 34, last October in Fort Liard.

The hearing began Wednesday in that community.

Preliminary hearings are held to determine if there is enough evidence to send a case to trial.

There is a publication ban on evidence revealed during preliminary hearings.

Klondike was found dead in a residence on Birch Road.

Community members have told CKLB that the victim and the accused had been involved in a relationship.

Lomen remains in custody after being denied bail earlier this year.
